With the rain holding off — thousands packed the streets of Downtown Detroit this morning for the 89th annual America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade presented by Art Van.
Everyone downtown enjoyed the morning taking in all the amazing floats and sights to see — even getting to see DIME participants perform their version of “Ease on Down” from The Wiz.
This years parade featured more than two dozen floats, over a dozen marching bands. The Parade Company also shared that more than 300,000 beads were passed out to anxious children lining up extra early to get a first glimpse of Santa Claus.
Alexander Smith, Detroit resident and political advocate was in support of the City of Detroit and its festivities to kick-off the holiday season.
